Download The AppWhat is 8x8 Telemedicine?
Telemedicine is the process of using a video application to conduct appointments between patients and healthcare providers. Telemedecine connects you with your provider and allows you to get the care you need, when you need it, from anywhere.
Why Telemedicine?
The benefits of telemedicine include safety and increased access to care for patients. At SJPS, the health and safety of our patients, our providers, and Team SJPS is always our top priority. As we work to address the threat of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to provide options for our patients to get the care that they need in a safe and timely way that respects social distancing guidelines.
Who Can Be Seen Via 8x8 Telemedecine?
All existing and new patients are now eligible to be scheduled for telemedicine consultations.
8x8 Telemedecine consultations might include:
- Discussing your new or existing pain management concerns with your provider
- Ordering any imaging, labs, braces or procedures you might require
- Reviewing the results of your previously ordered tests or imaging
- Monitoring your medications
- Post-procedure check ups
How Much Does It Cost?
Telemedicine consultations are billed to your insurance the same way that a visit to your doctor's office would be, so your financial responsibility will vary based upon your individual insurance coverage. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many commercial insurers have agreed to waive patient cost sharing for these appointments, but we encourage you to verify your plan's individual coverage for telemedicine prior to your appointment.
